There is a lot known and said about the White Cliffs of Dover. Dover is a town as well as the main ferry port in the county of Kent in the south eastern part of England. It is across the channel from France and it is located at that part of the English Channel which is indeed the narrowest part of the channel as it lies straight across France. The town of Dover is the administrative center of the district of Dover. The Port of Dover is also the place of the Diver ferry and that exact point where the Channel tunnel is seen to seen to make landfall. This is a place of exquisite beauty which is what makes it the object of quite a lot of people’s adulation as well as the topic of poetry, songs and paintings too.

Given the fact that it is one of the closest points between England and France has been something that has made it quite an important place strategically as well as historically. This is a place that has traditionally been an important landing point for intruders and conquerors who have wanted to overrun England over the centuries. It is also an important tourist spot.

Stratford-upon-Avon is one of the best known places in England, because it is known as the place which is most closely associated with William Shakespeare, the best known of all literary legends of the great English language. Stratford-upon-Avon is the ‘sweet Avon’ of Shakespeare and it is a place that is a half timbered black and white study in all things Shakespearean. This is a place that is inextricably linked with the bard of Avon and it is quite true that it is his influence that has caused the place to retain more than half of its Tudor buildings that are quite sturdy and well preserved to this day. It has so many music festivals, theaters and pubs as well as so many actors who may be in or out of work.

One of the Stratford-upon-Avon attractions is the Royal Shakespearean Company or the RSC as it is better known. This is an ensemble company in Stratford-upon-Avon which is in touch with Shakespeare as well as many classic plays by international dramatists and also works by living writers. This is indeed quite a wonderful institution that thrives on peoples’ support as well as contributions to ensure that the legacy of Shakespeare is popularized and also grows.
