Go to a Torquay hotel, sit before the window in your room, and look! You’ll see Torquay! And it’s lovely.

The most interesting spots there are Torre Abbey, Cockington Court, Torquay Pavilion, Babbacombe model village, Brixham Harbour and the gardens of Torquay.

A short drive will take you to the National Trust’s eye-soothing garden at Greenway. This was actually the holiday home of the enthralling Agatha Christie. There you will see captivating porpoises in the Channel at Berry Head.

Go to South Devon’s beautiful bay. Service standards there are a lure! You can  visit the Gleneagles Hotel. This hotel was actually the inspiration behind the 1970s comedy classic. There you will see the Torquay of today, a great change from the Torquay of yore!

You can go there by train along the grand coast-hugging views. Then take a short walk to the warm reception of the seafront Premier Inn. All the sights worth seeing in Torquay are within walking distance. Take easy, unhurried walks with your family, and you will be rewarded. You can take a longer walk to the Paignton’s under-discovered harbour and popular pier. You will feel relaxed and will want to come back to the soothing scene again.
