There are some places in England that are an eclectic and inimitable mix of beautiful beaches, history and also lip smacking cuisine. This is a potent combination for tourists and visitors to visit this city and have the time of their life enjoying its many attractions. If you get to the River Wear in Sunderland, you will see that the city has indeed reenergized and revitalized itself. The shipyards in the city are now gleaming and glistening and there are quite a few Victorian as well as Georgian buildings that have been refurbished and done up to give it an old world charm that is all so exquisite. But this has been done in a way that the warm and friendly soul of the city has been retained and revisited. The best part of all this is that Sunderland is quite close to wonderful beaches, natural parks and reserves as well as soul uplifting and picturesque scenery and countryside that will take your breath away quite literally.
The River Wear has seen Sunderland developing on its banks from Anglo-Saxon times. The culture, the architecture and the history of the city was shaped by the connection of the city with the sea connected through the River.

There are quite a few cities in England that are full of history as well as maritime magic that is so inimitable. One of these is definitely Plymouth which is quite a delightful place for visitors to visit and have a peek around. This is indeed quite a beautiful city that has a lot going in its favor and which is able to hold its own among some of the most delectable cities in all of England. This is a city that has a population of around 241,000 which is not too much, as cities go. But what is amazing is that it has a wonderful as well as inimitable location that defines much of its inimitable charms. For one it is located on the south coast and has one of the best natural harbors anywhere in the world. It is also quite near to both France as well as Spain across the English Channel which makes it quite ideal for cross channel hoppers and tourists.
To the north of the city lies the magical and mysterious Dartmoor National Park with its roaming ponies as well as moorland that is so undulating and majestic. All of these charms and delights are able to attract visitors and tourists like bees are attracted to nectar.

Norwich has a rich history about it. this is a city that was the 2nd largest city in all of England but way back in the 11th century. This is a city that is able to effectively straddle the new and the old, the traditional and the modern, if you chance to course through the streets of Norwich, some of the rich history of the city is sure to rub off on you, and you could come back with more than a passing knowledge of how the city has shaped up over the millennium. At the same time, it is heartening to note that there is nothing stuffy or claustrophobic about the city that does boast a vibrant and thriving night life as well as the vivacious culture and many shopping experiences that the city amply affords.
There are many attractions in Norwich which range from the Norwich Cathedral that has a typical Norman style as well as the timber framed house of Elm Hill, not to mention the Octagon Chapel which dates back to the 18th century. The Origins interactive center is a wonderful place to give you an idea of Norwich right from ancient times. There is quite a lot to see and savor in Norwich.

There are so many places in England where you can enjoy your holidays and have the time of your life. It is not like it is only London or Manchester where you can enjoy. One of the places where you can spend time and also unwind over a weekend or perhaps a few days of rest from the hurly burly of city life. Hull has a maritime charm about it that can help you get a sense of sea faring culture. This is a seafront city which is based on the banks of the Humber estuary. It almost seems as if the city is rejuvenating and reinventing itself. The city used to have a Royal Navy base and it was a major seaport. It used to have whaling fleets as well as deep sea trawlers as they would go across the Arctic Sea. Now the city has become a kind of gateway to the continent of Europe.
Leading the renaissance of the city of Hull is the Deep, which is an oceanographic study center which looks at marine conservation as the mainstay of its activities. This is a huge construction made of glass and also aluminum which has been designed by Sir Terry Farrell, the legendary architect.

Bath is one of the very charming and delightful places in England. The whole city has been designated a World Heritage Site because of its various historical attractions and lots of wonderful places to see and visit here. You will be amazed at all that is on offer here, and get to see its many architectural marvels. For one there are the world famous baths, from which the city gets its name as well as the temple. These are locations and creations that date back to from the 1st to the 4th century AD and they have wonderful plumbing such that the hot water spring is able to function even now. The natural water can be drunk too, though it may not be the tastiest of dinks. There is a fountain i.e. the building that bubbles up and the water is taken from there.
There is Sally Lunn’s in bath, which dates back to 1482. This is a place where buns are made with the same age-old recipe. Made to perfection and baked wonderfully for your pleasure. The recipes were rediscovered in a secret cupboard back in 1930. The city also have a rich tradition of rugby, where 10,000 fans can be heard cheering over Saturday afternoons in the Rec, which is their riverside ground.

There are a lot of folks who would love to visit places for free and this is quite understandable given the fact that the economic situation is not really very conducive for a very great money spending option. But just because you want to spend no money and still enjoy does not mean that you cannot live life up and enjoy yourself. This is something that we found out for ourselves in terms of free places to visit right here in England, where you can have the time of your life and still not have to spend too much on it. This is possible and you will be surprised at the many options that are possible.
In most English cities, you will find one or the other free museum where you can get in touch with history or some other aspect of nature, art or culture. You can spend many a happy hour with this and you also get some free family attractions or others that are very nominally priced. It only proves that you do not have to spend a fortune in order to enjoy yourself even in this day and age. This makes special sense for those who would love to watch the pennies and still enjoy themselves to the hilt.
